Job Description:
As the Project Manager for Sustainable Design, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our engineering sustainability strategy. Your primary responsibilities include driving initiatives to reduce carbon emissions across the design, product development, fabrication, and supply chain processes. A key focus will be integrating sustainability requirements at the early stages of product and process development.
Expected Achievements:
- Development of Sustainability Strategy: Contribute to the development of a comprehensive sustainability strategy through impactful design projects and initiatives.
- Eco Design Implementation: Take ownership of the plan's development and execution, collaborating with engineering and sustainability teams to achieve absolute reductions in emissions through eco-friendly design efforts.
- Environmental Impact Reduction: Assess the current environmental impact, initiate actions for carbon footprint reduction, and guide sustainability goals achievement through innovative engineering and product development.
- Circular Design Expertise: Develop methodologies and tools for calculating, analyzing, and enhancing circular design in products and operations. This includes a focus on Scope 1, 2, and 3 product carbon emission reduction, with regular reporting to management.
- Project Management Excellence: Lead sustainability projects in product and process engineering, maintaining a detailed project management plan, tracking progress, identifying roadblocks, and ensuring timely deliverables.
- Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sustainability, COE, and other departments, to develop environmental life cycle assessments. Facilitate sustainability training for employees at all levels.
- Stakeholder Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, such as customers and the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Degree in environmental science, mechanical or chemical engineering, or equivalent, with a post-graduation diploma or short-term course in Sustainability.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, sustainability, or project management, with expertise in carbon footprint calculation and life cycle assessments.
- Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel (estimated 10-25%).
- Strong project management skills and exposure to various manufacturing processes.
