Job description :

Role & responsibilities :

- Lead and direct all facets of supply chain management including purchasing, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, material forecasting, and capacity planning to support and meet the business strategy and company performance objectives.

- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and inventory control systems to reduce cost, streamline procedures and implement solutions.

- Identify risks in procurement and logistics, and prepare effective risk mitigation plans, as required (for example, high value items, bottle neck items, imports, customer criticalities, high end services, vendor risks, etc.)

- Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning / forecasting. Track the metrics to review effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain function.

- Ensure availability of raw materials in the supply chain as scheduled and maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.

- Ensure implementation of logistics plans inclusive of supplier contracts, routing guidelines, problem resolution and cost containment.

- Achieve cost targets through negotiation with supply chain partners, cost saving activities / projects.

- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to supply chain.

- Manage strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring their compliance with the companys needs and demands.

- Communicate customer issues with SCM team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.

- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.

- Acts as an integral part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on the availability and cost of supplies and materials.

- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

- Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and evaluate and report on KPIs.

- Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, storage of materials, and material management.

- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and develops, and maintains good relationships with vendors and distributors.
