Part of a team which is responsible for:

- Leading significant strategic change projects across the Firm driving business development efforts for the wider Firm being a repository of relevant market intelligence enhancing the Firm's branding and profile with efficient internal and external communication

Key Responsibility Areas:

The incumbent will primarily be in charge of leading and supporting international BD initiatives. As such, he/she will be expected to:

Support all international client development activity across practices including:

- Take ownership of one global region and proactively track developments relevant to an Indian firm / suggest BD initiative to capture inbound instructions

- Identifying business opportunities and helping prioritize on allocation of the firm's resources

- Share market intelligence by researching industry and business trends

- Strategize client pitches

- Follow up with relationship teams on meeting/telecon minutes and takeaways

- Tracking engagement with select clients to monitor performance

- Manage internal activities to efficiently deliver on all the above

Support international trips:

- Preparing for meetings, researching prior engagements of clients

- Following up with relationship teams on meeting/telecon minutes and takeaways

- Tracking engagement with select clients to monitor performance

- Coordinating of internal activities to efficiently deliver on all the above

Closely engage with foreign law firms:

- Tracking of India-related activities of top foreign law firms, in collaboration with other members of the team dedicated to relationships with foreign firms;

- Maintain some competitive intelligence on what peer firms are doing in the market;

- Engage with BD teams of some foreign firms for tracking of activity + joint initiatives;

- Support Partners in their interactions with foreign law firms.

Competencies:

- Commercial bent to convert leads into actionable sales of legal services

- Proactive ability to develop leads and opportunities to meet and connect with clients

- Ability to interact, challenge and influence credibly at senior levels

- Autonomy and ability to run and effectively manage multiple projects at the same time

- Ability to create and maintain efficient tracking tools to pursue business leads

Education and prior experience:

- (M.B.A), preferably in business or project management from a tier I college.

- Prior BD experience in a professional services firm is a must. International experience and/or legal background would be a plus.
