Manager - Strategic Sourcing - Electronics - Energy Management Startup

You'll be working with a deep-tech Energy Management start up focused in the EV space. The company's mission is powered by our proprietary technology, Flexible Energy Stack that enables the seamless flow of energy between the grid and vehicle.

You'll be part of the Strategic Sourcing team. This team runs on coffee, supplier evaluations, partnership agreements and production order books. The team has an infectious passion for building deep and engaging partnerships with our suppliers, vendors and partners.

What you will do:

- Work closely with the Engineering & Product Development teams to take various components and subsystems of the products to production

- Engage deeply with a set of vendors and suppliers to develop necessary capabilities, establish the correct value chains, optimize the cost of products and provide any support needed for the timely supply of components and subsystems

Responsibilities:

- Engage with suppliers to source components, and work with engineering teams to optimize for cost, timelines, and deliveries by iterating through options

- Engage with critical component vendors to build strategic supply partnerships focusing on ensuring preferential availability of strategically important items

- Evaluate multiple EMS and engage with appropriate ones for the manufacture of various electronic systems

- Ensure streamlined communication between suppliers and engineering teams to drive new capabilities and improvements on existing products

- Engage with outsourced electronics manufacturers to develop necessary capabilities needed for future Exponent products

Requirements:

- Understanding or past experience in electronics sourcing/vendor development

- Understanding of the principles of 'should costing'

- Ability to develop & evaluate proposals independently with suppliers & component manufacturers

- Communication skills - the ability to pitch to suppliers and to drive discussions to a decision

- Understanding of the supply chain and the ability to define and implement an MSA

- Prior experience in capital expenditure, tooling & NRE planning and deployment
