Manager/Sr Manager - Big Data & Algorithm

We are hiring for Big data capabilities & Algorithms Manager/ Sr.Manager.

Our projects require the Manager to apply proven Big Data algorithms and data modeling techniques to specific data related use cases. Our goal is to drive better marketing experience and demonstrate merchant value through the power of our closed-loop data.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of strategic thinking, advanced analytic knowledge, and excellent communication skills with a variety of partners.

Job Responsibilities :

- This position will be responsible for leading a team engaged in delivering innovative algorithms and capabilities leveraging Big Data techniques (e.g. Machine learning, large scale data/pattern mining etc).

- Provide technical leadership to the team members in relevant topics

- Owns all technical aspects of software/capability development for assigned application

- Prioritize efficiently to manage deliverables to committed deadlines.

- Manage customer expectations including scope, schedule, changes, and problem resolution

- Passionate for continuous learning, experimenting, applying and contributing towards cutting edge open source technologies and software paradigms.

- Build and manage a high performing and highly engaged team.

- Partner closely with data scientists on the Big Data Lab team and the GMS Data Capabilities & Partnership team to pursue complex initiatives that advance our closed-loop data assets.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/ ECE, Information Systems, or other related field with 5+ years experience or Ph.D. in Computer Science / ECE / related field with 3+ years of experience.

- Experience on Hadoop and other large scale distributed computing platforms is desirable.

- Experience and background in one or more of the following areas: Machine learning, information retrieval, data mining, large scale analytics, distributed computing, algorithms, large scale data visualization and pattern mining.

- Experience with C++, SQL, Unix/Linux Shell scripting is a plus.

- Experience with application design, configuration, and integration of third-party software products is preferred.

- Ability to think abstractly. Deals well with ambiguous/under-defined problems.
