Designation: Manager

Experience: 8-12 years

Education : University degree level education in a business or IT

Key Skills & Competencies :

- Analytical and optimization techniques, excellent knowledge of analytical tools such as MS Excel, Business Objects and an understanding of statistical software such as Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS).

- Should have knowledge and interest in optimization.

- The jobholder must possess strong communication skills: the ability to prepare written reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Job Description :

- A minimum of 8 years experience in an optimization, capacity management or resource management function.

- To provide high quality sourcing services to the assigned department, conducting high quality and detailed analysis of the project and resource data available to provide; an appropriate work program schedule for active and future projects, allocation and de-allocation options, proposed solutions to identified problems as well as optimization suggestions to the relevant department. Put quality control processes in place in order to ensure top quality services.

- Be the central point of contact for all analysis required to keep the work program up to date and relevant.

- Identify, prioritize and develop new analysis to support the improvement of the work program plan, link findings from various sources to enrich the data and present actionable recommendations to assigned teams. Set, monitor and develop key performance indicators.

- Using expertise manage, prioritize and recommend initiatives to the relevant department where alternative sourcing solutions could add value to development and support project delivery.

- Investigate and analyze and ensure that findings and proposed recommendations are presented to Senior Management of assigned department for their immediate consideration and action.

- Propose ideal candidates, based on detailed analysis, for allocation to all demand requests, considering optimal skill and availability matches based on detailed analysis of the project plans, time recording data etc.

- Under take analysis of the past performance of projects and resource allocations to identify the success of the allocation and the utilization of the individual.

- Provide effective and valuable feedback in a timely and accurate manner to the Software Engineering Practice/ Project Management Office with an aim of highlighting issues and proposing solutions. Fully explore the data to provide new ways of optimizing resources across the assigned department.

- Monitor the projects plans within the work program plan to ensure that resourcing plans and data are accurate and usable. Present regular reports to senior managers on the utilization of their staff on IT projects.

- Support the Software Engineering Practice/ Project Management Office in conducting service reviews by preparing data and analytics on performance against service levels.

- Coordinate with the relevant functions to ensure that processes and systems enable the resource management and optimization processes to work efficiently. Identify and implement changes quickly if required.

- Provide consultancy and guidance to internal IT project teams ensuring that they are aware of resourcing issues that could potentially impact their project.

- Play an active role in the preparation of the annual budget and the capacity plans and tracking expenditure and recovery of costs on an on-going basis.

- In conjunction with the Manager Software Engineering or Project Office Manager, develop and maintain links with resource optimization functions in other companies and industries to ensure we remain at the forefront of developments in this field.

- Liaise with external research consultants and gain information in order to keep abreast with new optimization techniques and software applications that will benefit the company.

Job Requirement :

- The job holder has to be able to deal with conflicting priorities and short term timeframes.

- The ability to analyze and interpret data for presentation and quickly understand and analyze complex problems and provide clear well-reasoned solutions is a must.

- The jobholder has to plan and time-manage in a dynamic and fast moving environment, possess clear and precise verbal communication based on data interpretation.

- They should be able to critically analyze data and propose recommendations for service/product improvement and work independently, evaluate alternative courses of action, and implement rational selectivity options.
