Key Responsibilities
Supplier and Distribution Quality Management:
- Manage product approval process for all new and existing ingredients and suppliers. Ensure products specifications, and processes are documented to ensure maximum efficiency for ingredients.
- Vendor Performance Management - Drive the quality and food safety using tools like Vendor audit reviews, Design and manage Complaint Management system, tracking and trending supplier performance.
- Continuous improvement in suppliers capability using technical expertise and innovative approach.
- Regularly identify and evaluate new suppliers for the various product categories basis manufacturing setup, quality awareness and business relevance.
- Complaint Management with suppliers / restaurants; monitoring effectiveness of corrective actions
- Laboratory develop and maintain relations with external labs all analysis related evaluations Distribution Centre (DC) - Development, audits, Approval, Tracking of existing and upcoming Distribution centres.
Regulatory:
- Ensure regulatory compliances with regards to supplier ingredient listing, statements, certification; lab screening for residue; listing of nutritional values etc.
- Liaisons with govt. bodies, regulatory authorities and third parties to ensure the compliance. Single point of contact of food related crises and product recovery.
- Liaisons with global team and cross functional team and takes strong decisions to avert the crises or reduce the impact.
- Regularly updates self and learns about nutritional information, allergen information, consumer and competitor trends.
Product Commercialisation:
- Assist New product development team internal and external Provides technical support at the product innovation stage to the cross functional team.
- Cost reduction exercises of existing products without compromising quality.
- Liase with cross functional team for smooth timely product launch.
- Evaluates and identifies supplier to support NPD basis the supplier capability and intentions.
- Cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
Operational Excellence:
- Being product custodian, should be able to identify opportunity areas to ensure food safety and quality of food ingredients at restaurants.
- Support RTT program for rolling out new products.
- Identifies operational complexity with existing ingredients / process and owns to streamline for constant improvement.
- Foresees challenges with regards to product abuse etc. and plugs them. Drives setting up of the supplier processes to enable efficient roll-out.
- Constantly aligns with cross-functional teams to improvise on rollout for the NPD and core categories.
- Take timely, practical and realistic decisions.
