Manager/Senior Manager - Legal - LLB/LLM - Microfinance

We are looking for Manager/Sr. Manager Legal for a Microfinance company in Bangalore.

- Our Client manages strategic decision making, resourcing, operations and other supporting functions for 2 of the micro finance portfolio companies of Private Equity Fund

- It has overall 1600 employees spread across various southern & western states of India

- Current lending portfolio of the company is Rs. 650 crores

- Based in Bangalore

- Senior level team (nest to the top management of company) has more than 30 people in Bangalore

JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager/Sr Manager - Legal

Experience: 5 to 9 Yrs (MFI/NBFC/Banking)

Qualification: LLB/LLM

Location : Bangalore

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Legal department

- Review and advise management on legal implications of internal external policies and procedures

- Review and analyze Loan contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements with the real time update on changing Legal Scenario.

- Drafting and issuance of Legal Notices. Preparing responses to Legal notices received

- Litigation and coordination with External Counsel

- Liaise with relevant (internal & external) departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.

- Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on loan contract management for appropriation of ensuring safety within legal framework.

- Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.

- Interaction with client and internally with head of all the departments.

- Compliance matters as required

- Should have handled property litigation and managed large number of cases involving drafting and vetting of representatives on behalf of the organization before different authorities including consumer cases

- Should be good in preventing the litigation and managing the existing cases, handling and supporting the Member Relations team with respect to consumer issues from the perspective of preventing the litigation.

- Should have sound knowledge of public interest litigations (PIL), Writs, Arbitration, RTI issues, IPR issues.

- Reviewing and advising the company with respect to product features and the terms & conditions in coordination with different departments
