Key Account Manager - 3PL:

This role is responsible for growing a portfolio of existing accounts as well as supporting the onboarding of new accounts. In addition, will develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for growth and profitability for the assigned portfolio of accounts. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Daily management and coordination of shipments with both shippers/warehouse and support day-to-day logistics activities for key customers.

- Set up and monitor project shipments from initiation, execution, and billing.

- Support the Planning department in determining cost-effective means of transporting various types of products and equipment considering the delivery requirements.

- Analyse routes and means of transportation, negotiate fees and coordinate with the Operation Department.

- Examine carriers and rates and translate the information into cost reports to present to customers.

- Monitor all carrier performance and provide feedback to carriers/management.

- Responsible for selecting carriers for each customer according to needs and negotiating carrier rates.

- Responsible for setting up service reports for customers.

- Perform profit and cost analysis for various accounts.

- Participate in meetings with carriers and customers as necessary.

- Conduct special projects which may be assigned by the manager.

- Perform assigned functions in the transportation field, consistent with regulations, standards, established policies, and business requirements.

Experience :

- 10+ years of relevant KAM experience in 3PLBusiness from a freight, consulting, or third-party logistics company.

- Excellent operational finance skills (rate development, warehouse and distribution pricing, operating statements, financial solutions).

- Strong industry experience with specific knowledge of freight, warehousing, distribution, and supportive technologies.

- Proven ability in strategy development and program implementation.

- Experience in negotiating customer contracts and pricing.

- Demonstrated ability to close business and organic growth of existing accounts.

- Experience in managing external providers of services and systems.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- A self-motivator and a self-learner with a strong drive.

- Strong analytical, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.
