About the Role/Key Responsibilities :

Solution Designing :

- Understand the business needs of the client and accordingly design the most effective visualization solution using technologies suitable to the end users (e.g. web, mobile, app and print)

- Make information easy to understand by designing and producing meaningful and effective data visualizations using relational and aggregate data sources

- Create interactive visualizations to allow users to ask and answer questions using off-the-shelf BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) or open source (Shiny, ggplot, D3.JS, etc.)

Internal Consulting :

- Responsible for improving visual design capabilities throughout data analytics

- Conduct training and develop training modules at an organisational level

- Participate as a member of the delivery team as the BI Subject Matter Expert (SME)

- Have sound understanding of various data visualization tools/platforms available and be able to convince clients on what would work best in their scenario

Project and Client Management :

- Independently manage multiple projects of varying complexities, and ensure the best quality under the given timelines

- Act as the SME on various BI projects to provide design support (best way to represent data) and technology support (tools to use)

- Conduct sanity checks based on reasoning and experience to ensure that deliverables are client ready

- Be a part of deliverable discussions with clients over telephonic calls and engage with them as a thought partner for their BI challenges

Thought Leadership :

- Keep a pulse on the latest developments in the world of data visualization

- Attend and present at conferences and disseminate useful knowledge to the larger data analytics team

- Write thought leadership pieces on data visualization, and emerging trends and technologies

Work Experience :

- 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in the field of descriptive analytics, with at least 6+ years of hands-on experience on various BI tools and technologies

- Experience in creating complex dashboards both static, interactive and real time visualizations that allow drill down ability and help the client take actions based on the insights provided

- Experience in handling client calls and client management independently

- Experience of managing projects independently, along with handling project teams

- Exposure to data mining and predictive analytics will be an added advantage

Knowledge :

- Expert-level knowledge of data visualization and data mining using off-the-shelf BI tools, such as (Tableau, Microsoft BI Stack and QlikView) and open source tools, such as R-Shiny Apps, Ggplot, Python and D3.JS

- Development of interactive dashboards or other visualization, HTML5, CSS and D3, JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, including extJS, jQuery, AngularJS, Ggplot and Shiny apps

- Automation and reporting/dashboard concepts

- Knowledge of big data architecture concepts (HDFS, Map reduce, etc.)

Skills :

- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

- Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire, Power BI, D3, Domo, ggplot, Shiny apps

- Excel, SQL, Access and other databases to manipulate and create back-end data

- Exposure to cloud-based environment to develop and deploy various dashboards and visualizations
