Manager/Senior Manager - Data Scientist - Insurance

Role Overview:

- Demonstrated understanding and experience in designing, developing, enhancing data science applications and feature engineering.

- Experience in leading customer expectation, project planning, execution, and project closure.

- Experience in Python (including Pandas and Numpy) and SQL.

- Good ability to code complex mathematical calculations independently.

- The person will also be required to participate actively in brainstorming sessions for improvement opportunities and take it to completion.

- A suitable candidate should have 5-8 years of experience in a similar role and should possess a go -getter attitude. He/ She should be able to deal with ambiguity.

- Experience working in Agile/kanban.

- Excellent communication skills with overseas clients.

Key Responsibilities & Skillsets:

Primary Skillsets:

- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in Python (including Pandas and Numpy), SQL.

- Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverables with minimal or no supervision/support.

- Good communication skills for client interaction.

- Knowledge of Advanced Excel, AWS, Cloud Infrastructure.

- Knowledge of Design Patterns and System Design.

- Have worked on at least one of the GIT repository management solutions (Bitbucket, Github, GitLab etc.)

- Data Management Skillsets:

- Ability to understand data models and identify ETL optimization opportunities. Exposure to ETL tools is preferred.

- Should have strong grasp of advanced SQL functionalities (joins, nested query, and procedures).

- Strong ability to translate functional specifications / requirements to technical requirements.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply.

- 5-8 years of experience in Python, SQL, System Design with strong focus on Pandas and Numpy.

- Design, develop and enhance large scale analytics applications with multiple dependencies across multiple modules preferably in insurance domain.

- Experience in following Agile Process.

- Excellent problem-solving skills.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

- Able to work in a fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take on uphill challenges.

- Ability to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe.
