Role : Manager/Senior Manager - Business Development - Power & Utilities Sector


Job purpose : 

Initiate, develop and support new and existing business opportunities the Power & Utilities sector.

Qualifications Required : 

- B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineer.

- Master's in Power System/Marketing/Finance.

- At least 5-10 years of experience with minimum 4 years in power sector.

Required Experience/Skills : 

- Detailed knowledge of the Indian Power & Utilities sector, including its commercial, technological and regulatory drivers

- Demonstrable industry network (ability to maintain/develop client relationships) and experience in strategy consulting selling

- An ability to multi-task effectively and balance time between project delivery and business development support effectively

- Strong written and oral communications skills.

- Thorough knowledge of Electricity Regulatory Process, tariff setting, Power market regulation regarding tariff determination, Renewable Energy Policies.

- Thorough knowledge of Standard Bidding Frameworks for tendering and flagship programmes of Govt. of India such as UDAY, IPDS, DDUGJY, etc.

Duties and responsibilities : 

- Initial activity would include understanding the organization's solutions and projects delivered in the past, updating the database of the organization credentials, understanding the skill sets of employees.

- Devising the annual business development plans based on the business goals and objectives of the organization in consultation with the management.

- Share the business development plans with the vertical heads and prepare a detailed strategy for achieving the set goals.

- Initiate meetings with prospective/existing clients along with the line managers to explore potential business opportunities

- Prepare and update trackers for upcoming tenders in relevant fields.Coordinate the development of pre-tender approvals documentation in support of Go/No Go decision to be made by the MEMI management. This would involve development of Project based business plans consisting of revenue and expenses.In case of a Go-Ahead by the management, prepare responses to tenders in consultation with the line managers and management.

- Developing cohesion with various verticals to develop standalone and consolidated solutions to be taken to market

- Follow-ups with clients to address concerns or issues and communicates those to management. Maintains and drives action items from Client Satisfaction Feedback sessions.

- Prepare regular progress reports regarding project pipeline activities and actively update and maintain the CRM database.

- Interacting with Government authorities, knowledge of Power sector and key stake holders (IPPs, EPC, State Owned Utilities, OEMs) on a periodic basis.
