Sales Manager - Exhibition industry


German based leading Trade fair organizers in the world with ~300 mio EUR revenue. It organizes >50 shows globally focusing on food & food technology, tools and technology, digital media & entertainment, furniture, interiors and design, art, culture and education, leisure time & family, health, mobility.

Indian subsidiary was incorporated in 2007 and have emerged as one of the leading Trade fair organizers in India having specific focus on food, food processing, dairy, packaging technology, and hardware.

Company has decided to launch an international show "Livestock"- Livestock are the domesticated animals raised in an agricultural setting in order to provide labor and produce diversified products for consumption such as meat, eggs, milk, fur, leather, and wool. The Event would cater to the technology related to such animals. Technology related to dairy, meat, poultry, marine, aqua etc. The event will launch in November 2024 in New Delhi.

Details of the job description and candidate profile are mentioned below:

A. Education qualification: Graduate or MBA in Marketing with experience in sales

B. Experience: Five to eight of experience in managing sales in a corporate setting, preferably in exhibitions industry

C. Reporting line:

Reporting to Project Director

D. Location: Mumbai/ Delhi

E. Responsibilities:

- Sales Manager will be responsible for representing the company effectively and execute sales through selling square meter space for the upcoming livestock exhibition in India and reporting directly to the project director.

- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company's global reach

- Achieve company objectives by planning thoroughly, setting sales goals, analysing performance data, and making forecasts

- Meet with potential clients, generate leads and grow long-lasting relationships that address their needs

- Recruit sales representatives, set objectives, train and coach them, and monitor their performance

- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans for filling them

- Research consumer needs and identify how best can the organizer utilises them

- Ability to travel at least 20% of the time pan India

- Strong communications skills

- Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing

- Passion for leadership

- Strong interpersonal, and organizational skills

- Good analytic and problem-solving skills
