Manager - R&D - Lubricants

We have an urgent role with a leading Global MNC in Lubricants at Mumbai (Ambernath) Thane, Maharashtra

Role: DM/MGR R&D

Candidate only from Lubricants Industry will be looked at for this role.

Profile :

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as R&D expert in Automotive lubricants, manage the day-to-day operations of R&D team

2. Act as a team member on New Product Development projects for OEM and Automotive After Market business

3. Manages all R&D aspects of projects for product development, product localization and product improvements in a timely manner

4. Responsible for change of Bill of Material for Automotive products

5. Organizes timely pre-production blending and batch adjustments

6. Approves new raw materials and new raw material deliveries related to automotive lubricants

7. Evaluates, selects and implements new R&D test methods and test equipment and communicates requirements to Procurement accordingly

8. Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Product Management, Sales and Marketing and Operations

9. Participation in technical supplier meeting

10. Work with EHS Manager to ensure availability of MSDS, RoHS certificates, and formulation disclosures

11. Supports Sales and Product Management in customer meetings, technical presentations.

12. Provides technical training to subordinates and other departments and external customers

13. Responsible for complaint handling within the related R&D team

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in chemistry or chemical Engineering, PhD (desirable)

2. Minimum 10 years working experience in related lubricant field.

3. Experience in petro-chemistry or lubricants

4. Demonstrate strong inter-personal and communication skills

5. In depth understanding of Management systems e.g. TS16949, ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 and quality management tools such as APQP, MSA, PPAP, and FMEA, 8D

6. Working knowledge of automotive lubricant formulations and specifications

7. Skilled in PC operation (Microsoft office) with capability in developing/ utilizing digital tools to enhance productivity

8. Knowledge of SAP desirable
