Manager - R&D - Electrical Industry

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Product Identification / Qualification

- Work with Marketing to prepare CDC (Product Specifications) for new product introduction

- Work with the Group / IPO to identify the right product platform/offer (Group/Vendor) for India. Hardware and Software.

- Qualify product offers wrt Indian specificities.

- Qualification of vendors for UPS, Batteries and other associated products.

- Sound Knowledge on energy storage system

- Qualification of UPS, Batteries and other associated products.

- Plan / Monitor the quality Surveillance Plan

- Product customization

- Identify specific needs wrt Indian market needs, habits, practices etc

- Identify and manage specific customization needs based on the point above

- Identifyand execute product improvements based on market feedback post launch of a product

- Identify cost reduction and continuous improvement projects

- Pre Sales Tech Support

- Back office pre sales tech support to Marketing & Sales

- Be able to provide the right solution (UPS+other related products like transformers, communication needs, battery cabinets etc) to sales based on clients/consultants specification.

- Benchmarking of Numeric products with competitor's offer

- Responsible for creation and maintenance of engineering documentation (BOM, drawings, instruction sheets, ECN, Technical bulletins etc) through his/her team

- Product training for sales team

- Standardization

- Should be aware of the standardization across Globe and able to Contribute effectively as per Group Guidelines

- Coordinate with BIS for product registrations as per BIS norms

- Manage surveillance jobs wrt BIS

- Manage all product testing in house or at third party labs

- Budgeting exercise

- Plan, prepare and manage the budgeting exercise for R&D

- Quality support

- Identifying quality issues and taking corrective actions in partnership with IPO, OEM and Group R&D

- The position requires close coordination with Group R&D (France), Group companies (France, Italy and Turkey) and IPO (International Purchase Organization) in Singapore
