Manager - Quality ( CMM / CMMI ) / US Based MNC
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
- Ensure that Quality Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QMS and that these are regularly reviewed
- Provide overall leadership in achieving IT quality objectives
- Ensure linkage of IT quality and process improvement activities across the organization.
- Management reporting of process improvement projects and measure process effectiveness
- Include IT quality objectives and initiatives in the IT strategy.
- Drive internal process programs like Monthly Audits, Process gap analysis, Metrics collection, Project retrospectives, Code reviews etc.
- Facilitate in project Causal analysis, ensure corrective and preventive actions
- Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
- Taking a broad cross-functional perspective of IT quality issues.
- Provide discipline and rigor to address quality improvements.
- Define top quality goals and measures.
- Drive consistent, agreed-to quality measures and corresponding management systems.
- Identify and prioritize IT quality issues from an end-to-end perspective.
- Serve as a focal point for an extended IT quality network comprised of end users and providers.
- Assign issues to owners for resolution, drive root cause analysis, and track results.
- Promote knowledge sharing of best practices relative to quality management in IT.
- Drive preventive defect activities so that quality does not become an afterthought.
- Total experience 12 -15 years in Software Engineering, Project Management and Process practices
- Minimum 7 - 10 years demonstrated experience in Quality Processes
- Experience of implementing CMM, CMMi Appraisals, TQM/ ISO certifications and should have been part of assessment teams
- Should have in depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, Metrics, Project management, Life cycle models (Waterfall, Agile) and Configuration Management areas
- Certifications in various quality areas like CMMi, ISO/ ITIL, CSQA
- Must be able to work off-hours to accommodate project deliverables and Deadlines
- Well versed with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exposure to define and implement metrics, establish baselines and relate to industry benchmarks
- Desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Focus on correcting the process that contributed to failure rather than installing short-term fixes to problems.
