JOB DESCRIPTION : DEPARTMENT: QA and EHS REPORT TO: Head Manufacturing POSITION SUMMARY : - Support Business unit, technology, and production. The QA&amp;EHS manager will plan Raw material, in-process and final product inspection and clearing material for the next process. - The QA&amp;EHS manager will initiate improvements using the scientific problem-solving method and six sigma methodology.. These efforts will result in improved product quality, reduced variation, less waste reduced cost, improved reliability, improved employee safety, improved environmental status, and greater overall system capability. - The QA and EHS must be adaptable and flexible in assuming new and/or changing assignments, be willing to travel domestically and internationally, and demonstrate an aptitude to identify and implement best practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Quality : - Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. - Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods. Facilitate the mill process to ensure completion of 8D (or equivalent) investigations and execution of root cause corrective actions to agreed timelines for all complaints. - Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations. - Ensure an effective quality process which (1) ensures raw material CoA requirements are met and logged within the mill quality system prior to use (2) executes raw material testing as required. Notify mill network of relevant supplier quality issues through the use of the Quality Alert. Support supplier audits as required; ensure suppliers execute appropriate corrective actions relating to supplier complaints. - Applies Lean Six Sigma thinking to deliver significant operational improvement and financial/quality benefit. Aligns Lean Six Sigma initiatives and project objectives to business strategy, and prioritize projects accordingly. - Coordinate and support execution of 3rd party quality audits, ensure effective closure of all agreed actions, communicate progress to the 3rd party. - Provide leadership and mill ownership for the Management of Change (MOC) Processes, specifically the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). - Provide test and data analysis support for internal and external root cause investigations. - Integrate R&amp;D and ongoing product testing requirements as appropriate. - Ensure an effective QC process which (1) ensures raw material CoA requirements are met and logged within the mill quality system prior to use (2) executes raw material testing as required. - Notify mill network of relevant supplier quality issues through the use of the Quality Alert. - Support supplier audits as required; ensure suppliers execute appropriate corrective actions relating to - Supplier complaints. EHS : - Preparing reports and documents for CFE/CFO approval from KSPCB and coordinate with KSPCB for approval of the same. - Knowledge of Health and safety requirements as per the Factories Act and complying with it. - Implementation of internal safety standards like LOTO, Contractor safety, confined space working visitor safety, etc. - Adopting learning from incidents in other locations. - Advising managers and employees on questions of occupational safety and accident prevention - Safety-related advice, testing, and acceptance of production facilities, workplaces, and processes - Further development and maintenance of occupational safety / environmental management systems as components of the integrated management system - Support with risk assessments of the various areas. - Investigating the causes of accidents at work and proposing measures to avoid them - Assessment of environmental risks and the development of environmental strategies - Contact for the professional association and the environmental and occupational safety authorities - Contact person for the global EHS organization SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC : - Six Sigma Green Belt /Black Belt, or scientific problem-solving methods or equivalent skill and knowledge - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate, coach, and counsel. - Computer skills; including MS Office Suite, Minitab, and Oracle - Technical process knowledge, attention to detail, understanding of Company quality and production standards, understanding of Statistical Process Control - Team player who fosters cooperation and collaboration between engineering, production, research and development, and any other entities involved - Responsive and flexible regarding Quality issues, including emergencies, which may require 24/7 work and handling phone calls or call-ins, if necessary. - Additional training as an internal auditor and worked as MR for ISO9001:2015 or IATF16949 or ISO45001. - Planning and analytical thinking as well as strong communication skills - Independent way of working as well as a high level of responsibility and commitment - Successful completion as a safety engineer (f / m) and a specialist for occupational safety (m / f) - Several years of professional experience in a comparable environment - Proper level of flexibility, independence, and assertiveness - Non-Hazardous Waste Management. - Hazardous waste management. - Safety/Environmental Incident reporting and corrective measures.
