4. Job Role & Responsibilities:
Role: To carry out the development of all types of critical & non critical Hardware & Fasteners & set the process standards. Cost settlement with vendors.
Responsibilities:
Vertical Responsibilities:
- Study the R&D released drawings & give the DFM.
- Freeze the final drawing with R&D drawing as per feasibility.
- Prepare the process flow for manufacturing of all types of hardware & fastener items.
- Calculate the cost of the hardware items.
Horizontal Responsibilities:
- To take up the parts for development as per DR methodology/control plan.
- To optimize the process for better QCD.
- Generation of reports and attend trials to establish good co-relation/bench-mark simulation v/s actual parameters for critical fasteners for cold forging process.
- Preparation of guidelines for various part families and features of design.
5. Competency Requirements:
- Technical/ Functional: Knowledge of cold forging process, Part former, Bolt formers, Headers. Limitation & actions on L/D ratios for head height & diameters.
- Knowledge of secondary processes like Thread rolling, Straightening, Turning, Grinding & Drilling-tapping.
- Knowledge on raw materials and co-relation of materials' properties and cold forging processes.
- Basic knowledge of Die designs for cold forging process.
Behavioral:
- Should have flair to learn and implement new ideas. Should be ready to travel on short notice
Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Work experience on cold forming process- Machine selection, die design for better material flow to optimize the design. Also able to calculate the cost hardware items.
