Role Summary :
The role requires one to handle proactive media relations; creative and persuasive writing (press releases, media alerts, by-lined articles, content, etc); research building and managing databases of media, bloggers and influencers; engage with journalists and stringers on a consistent basis; and, work with organization's management on strategic thinking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Provides daily oversight of industry activities (Online Gaming)
- Working closely with CEO on brand's public relations efforts. Network and liaison with media platforms and journalists to develop long term media relations for the organization.
- Develop effective content-driven plans for various initiatives of the organization, including the development of content calendars, press dockets, media relations tactical plans and event management, as appropriate.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the business and trends in the marketplace to deliver ideas related to PR, both large and scalable, that are on strategy and produce results.
- Drive implementation and evaluation of PR tactics, activities, ensuring the work product is in line with overall PR and brand strategy.
- Implements and evaluates public relations activities, paying careful attention to budgets, resources, deadlines and records
- Ensures latest PR and social media techniques are incorporated into our communication plans
- Coordinates and supervise vendors to carry out PR service requirements, and ensures quality, cost-effective service, within budget and established time frame with pre-determined results
- Daily functions include research, planning, collateral and writing.
- Provides new thinking and ideas to continually improve the public relations function
- Shares workload as needed, including writing, copyediting, proofreading, and media relations
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD :
- Have a minimum of 5 years of PR agency experience (can go up to 6-8 years) and should have handled multiple brands especially in technology space . Journalism experience is a MUST.
- Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects to completion in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to present at all levels of the organization and a positive public representative.
- Have exceptional writing skills and be detail-oriented in their approach.
- Have mastered all public relations functions - press writing, working with the media, strategy development, etc.
- Understanding of media relations strategies along with an understanding of digital/new media marketing strategies
- Have a full understanding and ability to develop detailed reports based on PR performance
