Position: Manager- Production

Education: B.E./B.Tech - Mechanical/Metallurgy/ Material Science

Functional Area: Production/Operation

Job Location :- Pithampur Indore

Reporting to - Plant Head

Reporting in - Team of 40 including 3 engineers and 37 supervisors and operators

Area of Expertise required for the Role:

- Cost Reduction techniques

- Planning methods

- Quality control tools

- Six Sigma approach

- WCM or Lean tools

- Man power management

- Safety champion/leader

- Team building/Leadership

- Financial indicators for manufacturing operations

Responsibilities under the profile:

- Oversee the production process, drawing up a production schedule

- Ensure that the production is cost effective

- Decide what resources are required

- Draft a timescale for the job

- Estimate costs and set the quality standards

- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed

- Be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment

- Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes

- Liaise among different departments, e.g. SCM, Marketing, Sales, HR, Maintenance, Stores, Accounts

- Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals

- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed

- Supervise and motivate a team of workers

- Review worker performance

- Identify training needs of operators/supervisors/engineers

- Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with respect to plant cost involvement

- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met

- Preparation of indent for Raw Materials and Operating consumables after reviewing the sales forecast

- Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment (in co-ordination with maintenance department)

- Organizing relevant training sessions for junior level employees

- Must be capable of planning and introducing efficient production methods to maximize company output.

- Should co-ordinate with the all other dependent and independent departments of the organization like the shop and the office.

- Must develop and introduce methods to increase productivity at the production line.

- Should take the responsibility of making sure the production is cost effective and feasible to the organization.

- Should have excellent communication skills as Production Engineers are responsible for instructing the production department.

- Should be capable of handling issues relating to productivity.

- Must keep a check on all machines involved in production and utilize technical knowledge effectively to maximize productivity and profit.

- To handle manpower and deployed manpower as per production.

- To maintain the quality of production as per specification.

- To follow safety rule on shop floor and motivate the manpower.

- To co-ordinate with concern department for timely production.

- To maintain all data & record as per required ISO.

- Responsible for handling and monitoring out the overall manufacturing & process cycle for production.

- He has to deal with different departments of the company such as sales department, procurement department and so on in order to update himself if any of the changes are required with the product.

- His responsibility is to manage the products in the best possible way so that it could fulfil all the requirements of customers to its fullest.

- He is responsible for managing out the audits within different manufacturing industries for updating himself with the requirements of the customers.

- He will be responsible for perfect scheduling of the product.

- To prepare SOP and implementation.

- To co-ordination with all department for successful planning of production.

- To prepare Daily & Monthly MIS Report & Material accounting.

- To responsible for yield management.

Accountability:

- Hold daily department meetings to review customer orders and operating constraints.

- Support daily production meetings.

- Monitor production standards, scrap quantities and throughput efficiency on a daily basis.

- Support team atmosphere for all area operations.

- Work with management to develop continuous improvement efforts.

- Evaluate employee work centres to improve process work flow.
