Job Responsibilities:
Product strategy:
- Discover and validate market problems for both existing and future customers. Conduct Market Intelligence - Study global trends, product innovations, market share analysis & competitor analysis.
- Define and size market segments and evaluate loss of opportunity (win /loss review).
- Develop consumer insight and analyses the changes in consumer preference.
- Formulation of product portfolio and strategic roadmap aligned to business goals.
- Conduct technology assessment. Introduce new products / industry innovations from time to time.
- Define buyer and user personas for individual product lines. Write product requirements and use case scenarios.
- Maintain a status dashboard for all portfolio products to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordination with local and global R&D team for product conceptualization & development.
- Factory coordination to gather and analyze quality reports for existing and upcoming models.
- Coordination with service for gathering product feedbacks from market (such as defect rates etc.).
- Prepare product launch of regular & technological innovative products as per market dynamics and their discontinuation plan.
- Post launch monitor the implementation of product strategy along critical dimensions for a duration of 3 months.
- Analyze product profitability and sales success.
- Update branches on new product launch and technology trends.
- Collaborate with T&D team for ISD trainings and other product USPs.
- Receive feedbacks from branches in line with competition benchmarking.
Distribution strategy:
- Determine the optimum distribution strategy for different product categories.
- Ensure different products utilize the most optimum distribution channel to both reinforce branding and successful sales (without cannibalization).
- Align sales process to the typical buying process.
- Create content to support sales efforts and events for dealer meets, tradeshows, conferences, seminars etc.
Pricing strategy:
- Study brand, product and price sensitivity/elasticity as per demographic, geographic and economic conditions.
- Establish pricing model, guidelines, schedules and procedures.
- Derive an optimum product price in line with overall marketing objectives, consumer demand, product attributes, competitors' pricing, market and economic trends.
- Coordinate with R&D, sourcing, logistics and other relevant departments to establish price points for different channels vis-a-vis competitors.
Promotion strategy:
- Devise marketing plan with special focus on suggesting methods for customer acquisition and customer retention
- Draft marketing messages catered to different target segments and formulate promotional strategies appropriate for each channel.
- Measure effectiveness of various marketing programs and ensure alignment with corporate goals
- Create and deliver thought leadership content via events, blogs, ebooks, other channels to influence buyers, industry specialists etc.
- Proper alignment with marketing to ensure effective product communication through product displays, catalogues and other communication channels.
Others:
- Maintain team's learning curve to keep team members abreast with latest market trends, technology and specifications in Vogue.
