Position Summary :
Strengthen Existing Product Portfolio and Develops New Products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.
Key Areas of Responsibility :
- Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
- Identifying Supplier both Domestic and International, negotiate the right buying price and other condition to be competitive in the market.
- Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
- Obtains product market share by working with the sales director to develop product sales strategies.
- Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
Competencies :
- Ability to create and develop product strategies and plans.
- Ability to develop marketing programs in collaboration with sales.
- Skills to analyze data from multiple viewpoints including market data, competitive offerings, and other information sources.
- Effective communication skills. You have to regularly communicate with people from other areas of the company - Sales, Marcom, Plant, SCM and Finance. These communications are the basis for product strategies.
- Skills to manage product release related activities including testing, preparing documentation, demos, product launches etc.
- Develop and manage pricing strategies for different categories - one of the crucial product manager skills
