Strategy Development:
- Develops a clear portfolio strategy for the assigned product family aimed at delivering robust financial results. This includes considering inorganic strategies to expand product depth and/or breadth, enhancing relevance to customers and channels.
- Generates breakthroughs such as new market entries, new products, new business models, M&A, and partnerships. This involves creating an ideas funnel, selecting and prioritizing ideas, active experimentation, and scaling up proven ideas.
- Communicates the vision and strategy throughout the organization, aligning it with clear near-term plans and metrics. Engages the organization early to gain buy-in for the plan.
- Articulates market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Develops an in-depth understanding of major competitors in key product markets and leverages competitive knowledge for strategic decision-making.
- Develops product and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy and market needs.
- Collaborates with R&D and operations in developing new products to meet current and future customer and market requirements.
- Drives partnerships and acquisitions to enhance scale and relevance to customers and channel partners. Builds a robust pipeline of M&A targets aligned with the portfolio strategy.
Develop Business Plan:
- Defines resource requirements necessary to execute product and technology roadmaps.
- Establishes and executes pricing policies.
- Collaborates effectively with Regional Product Manager teams to drive execution of product line strategies.
- Partners with the sales organization to accelerate speed and responsiveness while jointly defining GTM strategies.
- Partners with the operations team to define appropriate service models to win in the market.
- Executes flawlessly on value drivers and key priorities of the business. Actively engages in relevant value drivers.
- Establishes and develops close relationships and intimacy with key customers and focus distributors for the assigned product family.
Drive the Full P&L:
- Manages the P&L (sales and gross margin) for the assigned product line.
- Delivers growth above market through strong NPI (New Product Introduction) and share gain execution.
- Drives YoY gross margin expansion by developing and executing robust pricing strategies, driving operational productivity, and improving product mix.
- Leads critical projects to drive competitive advantage for the assigned product line.
- Tracks progress to the business plan and facilitates resolution to gaps.
- Achieves results by creating an operating rhythm for the business that helps the team accomplish topline and bottom-line results predictably.
Talent Management:
- Manages, energizes, and motivates a multicultural team of product managers located globally without a direct reporting line.
- Develops a robust succession plan for all critical roles in the team.
- Cultivates a humble, learning and growth-oriented, continuous improvement mindset, and culture in the organization.
- Communicates widely and at multiple levels in the organization.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably with an MBA, or equivalent experience in product management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with 5 or more years of product management experience in an industrial environment with international business exposure.
- Evidence of leadership responsibility for channel, market, product management, product development, and sales targets.
- Relevant industry experience with Identification and Labeling is advantageous.
