The price desk shall serve as a Rate Management unit, securing a uniform outward and inward communication form. Be an integral part of a systemized cost structure, linked with Company local and international ERP systems.
- Source, and evaluate 3rd party subcontractor (cost, service, quality, CSR)
- Create and maintain procedures for price desk process
- Performance management and continuous improvement through close monitoring of KPI's for quality, cost/profitability, win ratio, and turn time.
- Lead, develop and coach team members to support business goals
- Work closely with stakeholders within branch, and products.
- Integrate rates with EDI systems to support timely quotation and rate visibility.
- Act as the primary focal point for the price desk both within India/Bangladesh and towards the global DSV network.
- Allocating, and managing staff resources in an optimal way and according to changing needs
- Set SMART objectives for and direct reports and conduct regular feedback.
- Coach direct reports to build a strong team and succession pipeline.
- Identify and support provision of training requirements.
- Develop systemic thinking within the team, with view of process impact, up and down stream when implementing changes.
- Develop and use of visual management systems, daily review meetings, best practice and continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiaitves etc
Skills/Knowledge
Relevant experience in:
Experience in leading people is essential and required for the role
Strong leadership skills combined with confident decision making.
Result orientation
Experience of Business process development and improvement, backed by strong problem solving and analytical skills
Capable in managing multiple stakeholders in a dynamic business environment
General freight forwarding AIR/SEA/ROAD, with minimum 3 plus years - experience
