Industry : Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain  Skills : Planning and Engineering  Job Type : Permanent   Description :   Reporting to the MD - Planning and Engineering  Team Size - 15 Industrial Engineers across India  Client Details :  - A global logistics company, headquartered in the US, with operations in Air/Sea/Inland freight is looking to hire a Manager - Planning and Engineering for its India operations.  Job Description :  - Lead and manage a team of professionals that provide engineering support to the operations (Pickup and Delivery operations, Ground network operations and Airline haul operations).  - Aligns with the regional Management Team (Marketing, Operations, FP&A, QPI etc.) to develop concepts, tactics & plans relating to business expansions (new country openings, new stations, hub expansions etc.).  - Ensures the development of realistic forecasts (stations, use of GSPs, resources such as vans, equipment, headcount etc.), including appropriate costs, based on effective analysis & evaluation of multiple factors.  - Provide support in facility planning, preparing city master plan, layout & resource requirements. (City master plan charts out the number and location of branches required in a region to support current and future operation volumes).  - Maintains accurate & realistic five year plans that ensure the operation is effectively prepared to accommodate changes relating to volumes, business expansions, new services, regulatory requirements, technology etc.  - Leads the development of robust & effective operational methods, practices, SOPS for the assigned region. Conduct regular and systematic audits to identify compliance issues & further improvement opportunities. Develop revised SOPs and its implantation on ground.  - Setting and managing operations KPIs such as packages/courier, number of couriers per route, shuttle departure, etc.  - Design line haul support for air and ground network. Negotiate with co-loaders and airlines to priorities the up-liftment of the organisation's loads.  - Manage departmental & project budgets ensuring all costs are reviewed & controlled within defined parameters. Focus on providing commercially sound business advice relating to all operational capital expenditure.  - Participates in defined change initiatives in order to develop the most effective & efficient solution for the business. Ensure effective evaluation of the change criteria & identification & exploration of potential solutions (customs change that impacts processes, systems, flight change impacts cut-off times, possible simplification of customs requirements etc.).  - Support the MD/VP Team by leading the development of robust solutions to ad-hoc problems, which can be high focus/high impact for the region, includes chairing cross-functional groups and task forces and co-ordination of corrective actions, facilitating cross-department agreement through the evaluation of objective criteria.  - Evaluates ongoing changes within the organisation (new flights, cut off times, GSP, Corporate or EMEA business changes/projects etc.), or externally (new service offering from a competitor, new technology or regulatory change etc.) that impact the operation.  - Support divisions/regional/strategic projects across India or MEISA region. (Ex: Product development, integration, Product migration, profit improvement, etc.).  Profile :  Education : BE in any stream, Production or Industrial engineering preferred plus MBA or equivalent  Experience : Minimum 10 years of core experience in similar role with at least 5 plus years in a leadership/team handling role  Skills & competency :  - Leadership and communication  - Business and Financial acumen  - High on planning-organizing skills  - Project management skills  - Stakeholder management  Industry : Logistics and Airlines preferred.
