Manager - Packaging Development - Personal Care & Skin Care

Role Overview:

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible to deliver best in class packaging solutions while partnering with internal & external resources. The incumbent must have superior technological depth & also great understanding of the new developments within the ecosystem globally. Incase of pre-development & sustainability responsibility, the incumbent must have superior creativity skills, design thinking capability & also strong understanding of material sciences. The incumbent must be extremely agile & flexible to adjust to the variable needs from business. The candidate must be aware of the relevant packaging regulations & applicable guidelines across emerging market. The candidate should possess reasonable knowledge of suppliers & its capabilities for various technology platforms across emerging market.

Detailed Responsibilities:

- Category Business Knowledge & Consumer Insights

Owning one complex category for in depth knowledge on the technology & business.

Able to understand consumer insight & corelating with available technologies/product offering

- Co-ordination & Exchange

Lead & participate in internal technical exchange within local & global R&D teams

- Core Team

Lead projects in the core team Medium to High complex IIM & Supply Chain projects

- Project Management

Lead IIM medium and high complex projects.

Deliver large & medium complex innovation technologies

Working on recycled plastic qualification, approval & testing initiatives.

- Novel Technology/capability Development

In depth Molding process knowledge and know-how of engineering, designing of molds

Identifying new technologies - based on consumer insights & advancement on tech. externally.

Newer sustainable materials development & qualification knowledge

- Workflow know how

SAP, Accolade, D2P, PMP, Zeus. To be a key user for SAP, Engineering Drawing - LCA analysis.

- Organisation tasks

Playing a key role in internal R&D working groups & driving the team agenda. Leading at least one working group.

- Stakeholder Management :

Capability to manage stakeholders in low to medium sensitivity topics

Required Knowledge and Qualification:

- Education: Engineering/Equivalent Degree in Packaging Technology

- Experience: Minimum 6-9 years of experience in the field of Packaging Development for company required

- Technical: Knowledge of material science & packaging technology newer technological updates, structural designing knowhow, sustainability, 3D printing, PCR material knowledge etc.

- Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of FMCG business environment, packaging materials supplier ecosystem in emerging markets & preferably in Southeast Asia region.

- Project Management: Ability to work on projects within defined timelines & managing constraints.

- Working experience in a geography outside India is MUST & preferably in the Southeast Asia region. Proven track record of working in global projects is required.

- Experience of managing Complex technical projects remotely is mandatory.

- The role might require extensive travelling in different countries across the Asia region.

Internal:

- Mainly regional & local Marketing teams, Technology Development, Formula Development, PC Operations team, SC teams (Project leaders & others), Procurement.

External:

- Packaging material suppliers, design agency, testing lab, University/Institutes, research partners etc.
