The operations manager role is mainly to implement the right processes and practices across the organization to achieve the sales target. The specific duties of an operations manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, motivating team etc. Principal Responsibilities : - Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve sales goals. - Ensuring communication between sales and operation department to achieve and maintain the demand and supply. - Lead, motivate, and support team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution - Plans, schedules, and reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis - Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service - Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implementing productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; - Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols - Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget - Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed - 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Civil, or Freight Forwarding industries with a proven background in business operation management. Required Education and Skills : - Bachelors/Masters degree in operations management, business administration, or related field - 5+ years proven experience in an operations management position - Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of operations and sales - Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes - Should have good negotiating skills, know how to get your point across - Capable to see an industry's bigger picture while not allowing grand plans to interfere with your every day running of the company. - Good leadership skills, including delegation, time management, and prioritization of tasks. - Creativity and innovation, because you'll be expected to develop new ideas and concepts.
