Operational Risk Manager

Department - Risk

Reports to - Head Risk and Policy or CRO

Location - Mumbai

Education - MBA OR Graduate

CTC - 16 Lacs pa

- Requirement - Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational Risk Management

Purpose of the Role:

- Initiate and develop Operational Risk policies, processes and framework according to standards for risk management.

- Review of Operational Risk Framework and related policies related to business unit

- Implement plan to prevent, eliminate/minimize and mitigate operational risks.

- Conduct root cause analysis of OR incidents and ensure effective corrective action

- Support the business to design controls to enable risk management for new products/processes.

- Drive continuous improvement in the business control environment by using OR tools

- Conduct RCSA and discuss with functional heads for preventive/ corrective action

- Develop KRI and ensure review/monitoring of KRIs and preventive/ corrective action is taken by concerned stakeholders for bringing parameters within defined thresholds

- Conducting ORMC, documenting minutes and timely closure of ATRs.

- Review of revised SOPs and oversee effective design of controls for all revised/changed processes

- Publishing KRI Dashboard and OR Event Dashboard to Functional Heads on a periodical basis.

- Ensure constitution of appropriate operational risk committees with approved terms of reference including quorum, recording minutes, follow up for closure of identified actionable

Key Skills & Competencies:

Primary Skill:

- Strong understanding of Operations Risk Management

Technical Skills:

1. MS Office - Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications is a must

2. Data management, Visualization and analytics skills - proficiency (High level)

3. In depth understanding of Technology and latest trends in credit Automation for MSME lending

4. Analytical skills

Other Skills:

Job description:

Key Accountabilities:

1. General knowledge of NBFC Lending Products, Activities and Operations

2. Analytical and able to identify potential operational risk exposures in business activities and assess the appropriateness and adequacy of mitigating controls

3. The candidate should have experience of OR / Audit and be able to mine data to come out with hotspot areas.

Job Duties & responsibilities:

1. Provide advice, guidance and training to the Business / Support units (BU/SU) on operational risk matters including risk management processes, where applicable, for adoption by the units.

2. Engage with relevant business/support units UORM, facilitating the use of relevant operational risk tools and methodologies, including Risk Event Reporting, Control Self Assessment (CSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRI), etc to enable the units to identify, assess and mitigate key operational risks

3. Liaise with relevant business/support units partners in the various control and support functions e.g. Credit, Compliance, Legal, etc in addressing operational risk issues arising in the end-to-end processes

4. Manage and maintain the ORMS system that enables regular risk reporting and analysis and liaise with internal support parties (eg ORMS support)

5. Conduct reviews on operational risk metrics (Risk Events, CSA, KRI, etc) as appropriate, including the responses and action plans and assessing the effectiveness of these as adequate mitigants to the risks identified

Technical Competencies:

1. General knowledge of banking products/services, activities and operations in commercial, consumer and branch banking

2. Analytical and able to identify potential operational risk exposures in business activities and assess the appropriateness and adequacy of mitigating controls

3. The candidate should have experience of OR / Audit and be able to mine data to come out with hotspot areas.
