Manager - Marketing - Mall

The Position is at the level of the Mall Marketing Manager and therefore is at the Senior Management level. Accordingly, the purpose and critical functions of the role would be as follows:

Purpose :

To ensure that the mall gets and remains positioned as a commercially attractive privately owned - public space- in Nashik.

The key expectations of the role :

1. Develop and sustain strategic marketing of the mall.

2. Conceptualise, operationalise, and manage the various interfaces of the mall with the market on an ongoing basis.

3. Develop and sustain marketing orientation in the mall organisation.

The competencies required to effectively take on this role :

1. In-depth understanding of retail business in the Indian context with conceptual understanding of buying behaviour.

2. Working knowledge of technology as an enabler in retail marketing.

3. Abstracting and modelling skills.

4. Tolerance to and management of ambiguity in the context of a challenging business situation such as a Mall.

5. A curious and inquiring mind.

The Person:

- Formal qualifications in Marketing Management from a Management school of repute. (The reputation of the school can be non-constraining if the experience of the person is strikingly distinctive)

- Over all work-experience of at least 15 years with at least 5 years as the Head of Sales/ Marketing (in the case of a medium-sized organisation) or as directly reporting to the Head of Marketing with specific product/market responsibility. (in case of large organisation).

- Person looking for a very challenging, at times completely unfamiliar, experience for at least 5 years.

It is assumed that the person will have thorough understanding of contemporary marketing theories and practices, various tools and techniques of retailing and market research, and consumer behaviour.
