ABOUT SANKALP FORUM

Sankalp Forum (www.sankalpforum.com), an Intellecap Initiative, aims to influence the global inclusive development discourse through its work with entrepreneurs, impact investors and inclusive businesses in developing markets. Keeping entrepreneurs and the social impact that they create at its core, Sankalp engages Governments, corporations, influential platforms like the G8 and G20, media and civil society.

Sankalp's global Summit, held in India annually, brings together over a 1,000 of these engaged stakeholders from around the world to discuss, debate and create a roadmap for development. The Forum expanded to Africa in 2013, and is actively looking to engage with the South East Asian market.

Since its inception in 2009, it has connected over 400 enterprises to investors and funders, and built an engaged community of over 23,000.

THE POSITION

The Manager will be a senior resource in the Sankalp team, and will be primarily tasked with conceptualizing and implementing the Global Sankalp Summit hosted in India annually.

In addition, the candidate will work closely with the Director and Associate Director on realizing the strategic roadmap for Sankalp, including the regional Sankalp convening in Africa and the expansion into South East Asia.

Your responsibilities will include -

Partnership building and fund raising

- Strengthen & expand Sankalp's global ecosystem, through engagement & relationship building with corporate, private foundations, multilateral organisations, investors, incubators, like-minded associations, universities, as well as media.

- Help formulate and implement a fund-raising strategy for our Global Summit. Identify & close partnerships (commercial & non-commercial), including creating partnership tools, communication documents and proposals.

Project Management and Summit Execution

- Work closely with the Intellecap leadership team to conceptualize the Summit structure, theme, format, speakers, media engagement, delegate participation, partner roles, and coordinate with vendors and external agencies for delivering a high impact summit.

- Coordinate with sponsors, investors and other partners to ensure end to end completion of all deliverables and commitments.

Strategic planning

- As part of the Sankalp leadership team, help chart priorities and engagements in each of the focus regions - India, Africa and South East Asia.

- Come up with new implementable ideas for Sankalp, such that it adapts to market needs and continuously remains relevant to all stakeholders.

Team building and management

- Build and manage a core team of 2-3 people to work on the Global Summit in India.

- Be the in-house evangelizer for Sankalp and work with other business teams at Intellecap on content, fundraising and partnerships.

- Directly manage outsourced event management teams and vendors.

THE CANDIDATE

You are a strong team leader and communicator, with a proven track record of project management, business development and working with multiple stakeholders.

You are capable of out of the box thinking, and can inspire team members to think creatively to bring out results.

- A master's degree or equivalent in management, marketing, social enterprise, economics

- 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably with 3 years in a team management role

- Proven team building, interpersonal and networking skills

- Ability to work under pressure, straddle multiple deliverables

- Insanely passionate about an entrepreneurial eco-system and initiatives that can promote them

- Reasonable understanding of the impact investment / social enterprise space globally (preferred)

The position will require extensive travel within India, as well as internationally (on need basis).

THE COMPENSATION

Compensation is commensurate with experience and comparable to remuneration in the sector. You will also be eligible for incentives and bonus payouts as and when applicable.
