Job Description

Reporting to Director, Marketing, the Marketing Communications Manager is a crucial member of the marketing team, planning and executing its public relations strategy and the delivery of social media campaigns ensuring organisational values, ambitions and goals are achieved. This is a key role responsible for developing and implementing a marketing communications strategy, including PR and use of social media to support campaigns. The candidate will be required to facilitate building strong relationships with internal and external audiencethrough digital marketing, PR and content marketing.

The ideal candidate shouldbe an excellent communicator, strategist and tactician; should understand the digital and PR landscape and enjoys problem solving. This position will be rewarding for a professional who thrives while collaborating and who enjoys building, rather than inheriting a plan.

Responsibilities:

- Create a communications strategy and its implementation plan, working with Programme Manager on programs and campaigns and additionally, to identify future opportunities for brand enhancement

- Identify press opportunities both internally (programmes) and externally (policy & industry/sectoral)

- Work with PR agency to develop PR messages and disseminate proactively via relevant channels including social media

- Create an digital marketing roadmap, institute best marketing practices and deliver innovative solutions to the business and communication opportunities and challenges

- Plan and execute SEO/SEM, email mktg, social media, blogs and display advertising campaigns. Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights

- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals

- Build a narrative that resonates with target groups and ensure its woven through touch points in the buyer journey.

- Conceptualize and execute the influencer relations programs (Press, Social)

- Strategic Communication - Analyses and segments the audiences, develops and tests messages, identifies appropriate channels, and disseminates communications.

- Visual Communication - Uses technology to develop tables, graphics, and other images to enhance key messages. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

- Business Acumen - Understands business operations and functions, the external environment, and how communication practices contribute to core business functions.

- Problem Solving & Creativity - Seeks innovation, applying a range of creative solutions to solving complex problems. Ability to think creatively about a broad picture.

- Planning & Organizing - Ability to organize own work effectively and in an orderly way and the ability to priorities multiple workloads and meet deadlines. Operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

- Attention to detail - Proofreads everything. Fact checks everything. Editing skills should be excellent

- Media relations - an understanding of what makes the media tick is most important - what's in a media list- What are the pitching best practices- Understand the nuances of blogger relations.

- New age practices - blogging, microblogging, RSS, RSS Readers

- Proactive - Should be able to research the answer or find another way to find the right answer

- Work ethic - communications/public relations isn- t a 9-to-5 job. It shouldn- t take over one's life, but the nature of the work is that sometimes one will have last-minute deadlines and sometimes have to chip-in to help others

- Multi-tasking and time management - Ability to handle a variety of things simultaneously and display a sense of urgency, when required.

- Achievement focus - clear goals, assessment of risks when drafting an action plan, and most importantly, timely action to achieve results.

- Negotiation skills - awareness of cost details, industry benchmarks and ability to negotiate smart.

Minimum Requirements

- 8-10 years of work experience in communications, marketing, public relations and digital marketing.

- Masters in Communications or Business Management.

- Highly articulate with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- Excellent understanding of digital and PR marketing concepts, including new age ones.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Must have a keen creative sense.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Preferred experience and demonstrated success inB2B environment

- Knowledge of Google Analytics and related tools
