Reports to: General Manager  Key Responsibility:  - Knowledge and experience in Litigation and Dispute resolution across various Courts / Tribunals and quasi judicial authorities.  - Drafting of Complaints, Petitions, Legal Notices, Written Statements, Replies, Appeals, Case Papers, etc.for legal proceedings  - In-depth knowledge and experience of dealing with issues/compliance related to Legal Metrology/Food Laws and regulations, including Packaging and Labeling requirements, Product claims, food safety management compliance etc., Consumer laws, filing patents for new products and processes.  - Knowledge and experience in Labour laws and Industrial relations.   - Strong commercial acumen and skill in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with clear understanding of business and legal risks.  - Initiate and drive with internal business teams legal compliance processes and work independently with guidance from function heads.  - Identify External Counsel with quality, commitment, efficiency and values. Build a network of external/internal lawyers for handling litigations.  - Proactive strategic support, management, advice and anticipation of potential issues and litigation exposures and to minimize the samethrough effective litigation management strategy   Skill Requirements:  - Must have strong In-House counsel experience within a large corporate legal environment.  - Must have experience of handling diverse legal and regulatory issues related to food laws and under legal metrology.   - Must have strong exposure to corporate and commercial laws.Familiarity with commercial agreements and drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising contracts and all type of legal documents.  - Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills. Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment; willingness to research, analyse and develop new skills.  - Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to changing deadlines, changing deliverables and evolving task priorities.  - Approvals and compliance requirements in relation to setting-up and running business, including environmental laws, consumer laws, labour laws etc.  - Experience in due diligence activities.  - Preparation of all types of contracts, LOI, LOA etc.  - Familiarity with Court proceedings and Litigation experience and having the ability to formulate strategy for litigations. Drafting and research skills.  - Working closely with other department on issues.  - Keeping fully upto date with all related laws by research and by screening legal publications. Researching and analysing laws that may create risk for or otherwise affect the company; counselling internal business clients on the business implications of these laws; and assisting in developing policies, procedures and risk mitigation strategies.  - Working with external legal advisors and internal legal department staff on corporate litigations / arbitrations; managing and coordinating external legal resources.  Personal Traits:  - People management skills  - Problem solving skills  - Analytical ability   Qualification & Experience:  - LL.B from a reputed University / Institution  - Candidates must have proven experience with 8-10 years in Legal Department of reputed MNC / FMCG companies.  The role is for an FMCG Company   Monica
