The new recruit will complement the activities of the onshore team by :
- Assisting client service teams in the negotiation and agreement of engagement and other contracts
- Responding to miscellaneous engagement contract-related enquiries
- Providing advice on engagement contract and related matters
- Drafting and advising on contract terms
- Providing solutions to engagement contract-related problems
- Working on framework and master service agreements
- Liaising with and supporting other technical departments
- Helping with the development of policies on engagement contracting risk
Requirements for the role :
The person appointed will need the following qualifications, skills and experience :
- Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for complex business advisory projects, such as business transformations
- Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts for services relating to IT systems integration, and large IT installations
- Experience of drafting and negotiating software licensing agreements and contracts with software suppliers
- Experience of negotiating multi-jurisdictional master service agreements
- Experience in team management and supervision
- Excellent academics
- Indian qualified lawyer (or English solicitor) qualification with a minimum of 8 years qualification
- Ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly
- Ability to persuade and manipulate where necessary
- Negotiating abilities
- Capabilities in Outlook, Word and use of websites
- Willingness to acquire knowledge of the OGC's practices and processes
- Commercial judgement and the ability to balance conflicting demands
- Initiative, self confidence and authority
- Understanding of the risks faced by providers of professional services and technology-related services
- Awareness of cultural issues affecting regulated professional services firms.
