Within KPMG, the KGS Infrastructure hub is being developed as a Centre of excellence (CoE) for the firm's Global Infrastructure advisory service line. The team is on a high-growth trajectory, currently consisting of 26 professionals acting as an interface between our Global KPMG Infrastructure teams and KPMG Global Services. These professionals specialize into financial & economic modelling, financial due diligence & transaction services of large scale infrastructure projects including project finance and regulatory finance, infrastructure insight, business development & proposal support etc. We are recruiting for an Assistant Manager/Manager role in the Infrastructure modelling domain.
Roles and responsibilities -
We are recruiting for a Consultant in the team. Working as a member of the team your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Team Leader to deliver engagements in the field of asset management, fiscal and economic impact analysis, policy and market research
- Preparing research packs such as industry research, company research and market study
- Actively building and managing the relationships and interface with Global KPMG Infrastructure teams and other deal advisory professionals
- Mentoring junior team members on engagements
- Supporting KPMG onshore teams or leading business development initiatives, including bid proposal and management
- Contributing to thought leadership and knowledge management to support practice development
Essential skills required
Education / professional Prior Experience
Qualifications
MBA / PGDBM / Engineers Relevant experience (2-5 years) gained in either research, policy analysis, asset management, project scheduling, the quantitative and qualitative analysis in the relevant sector/ propositions (as applicable)
The ideal candidate would have:
- Strategic thinking ability and effective written and oral communication
- Knowledge of Lifecycle costing and a basic understanding of the lifecycle of an asset
- Some specialized knowledge in an area of infrastructure, e.g. water, wastewater, storm water, waste, transportation (roads, structures), facilities, municipal operations
- An understanding of the common indices used for the assessment of the condition of various assets
- Strong market research skills which requires understanding what are the underlying drivers of growth, factors influencing demand and supply, etc.
- Strong secondary research skills
- Strong report and proposal writing skills; ability to effectively synthesize information, bring out the essence of a paragraph, but also more generally to organize information such that there is a clear storyline
- Familiarity with the sources of economic data (OECD, WEF, UNTAD, and many others)
- Good understanding of risk and criticality; likelihood-impact matrix
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
- Knowledge of basic finance concepts
- Data auditing for completeness and gaps; familiarity with data analysis tools like Alteryx will be an added advantage
- Creativity with charts, and a good handle on preparing decks for client presentations; familiarity with Tableau software will be an added advantage
- Experience of working with the government bodies
