Global Analytics Centre (GAC) provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, reporting and data management.

- It forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.

- RWA and Capital management is an area of increasing focus across the Bank, and the Global Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Capital Analytics and Model Governance Team is being expanded to support the objectives of RWA and Capital management across RBWM Business, Finance and Risk functions.

The principal accountabilities of the team are :

- to oversee the development of Basel/Capital models from initiation to final submission to regulators, ensuring high quality submissions through model review, maintenance of model development and documentation standards, and developing modelling best practice at a Global level

- to provide intelligent MI to understand and manage RWA/capital requirements across RBWM

- to manage Global coordination and responses to regulatory consultation papers relating to Basel/capital models.

Job Description :

Projects and analysis :

- Effective review and oversight of Basel models and documentation to ensure high quality submissions to local regulators and PRA, following the required standards and governance process;

- Support global consistency in Basel modelling approaches by conducting in-depth analysis of existing modelling approaches, and researching and developing - proof of concept- models to identify and develop best practices;

- Identify opportunities to manage RWA/capital more efficiently through detailed analysis of model performance;

- Effectively monitor the modelling gaps, issues, and findings resulting from the Basel model attestation, independent model reviews, and audit reviews;

- Dissemination, clarification, and consolidation of various regulatory requests. Manage requests from regulators relating to Basel/capital models

interpreting outputs and communicating potential impacts to Senior Management;

- Providing intelligent MI of RWA across RBWM to enable senior management to understand RWA consumption

Customers / Stakeholders :

- Strong project management and delivery focus;

- Demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between GAC leadership team and other constituencies, both internal and external;

- Role requires regular interaction and working with senior members within GAC and across regions. Build and nurture strong relationship with key stakeholders

Leadership & Teamwork :

- While the role will not have any direct reports, he/she must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization

Operational Effectiveness & Control :

- Strengthen risk management by producing high quality analysis and reporting. Capable of informing and driving business decision making;

- Liaising with colleagues to analyse and interpret crystallised or emerging risk events, establishing underlying root causes and effective future mitigation;

- Fostering a risk aware culture by the routine embedding of risk considerations into all analysis and reporting

Skills/Experience Required :

- Bachelors or Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline

- Minimum 5 years experience of first-hand experience of retail capital model development

- Strong knowledge of the Basel Accord / Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) or equivalent regulatory capital framework

- Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly, and to develop incremental solutions using previous experience and alternative methodologies

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail

- Good organizational and project management skills

- Ability to identify trends/issues and follow-up/escalate as appropriate

- Personal impact/ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at senior levels in the organization
