Role Description: Labour Relations Manager (Factory)

Job Title : Labour Relations Manager

Function: HR & Administration

Role Purpose: To manage Industrial Relations and Government liaison at factory site.

Reporting To: Head-HR & Administration

Education: Preferably Masters in Human Resource Management, with additional qualifications in Labour Laws

Experience (in years): 12-20 years experience in managing Industrial Relations activities, employee welfare and government liaison.

Role Description:

Responsibilities: Manage Industrial Relations and Compliance to Statutory Norms

- File returns as per the statutory norms and stated timelines.

- Coordinate with consultant/government authorities for regulatory certifications and registrations.

- Reply on time to government queries and data requirements.

- Facilitate Annual Inspection by government Inspector.

- Liaise with government agency regularly and ensure cordial relations.

- Conduct negotiations with the Union representatives on various issues .

- Reply to legal proceedings and court notices with the help of legal expert. Attend court matters as and when required, and on the dates of case-hearing.

- Appraise senior management on the status of court proceedings and notices received, on a monthly basis.

Manage Disciplinary Action:

- Ensure display of disciplinary rules (policies) in poster format in the company premises and communicate regularly on discipline to employees.

- In case of violation of rules, provide verbal warning to offending employee. For the next violation, issues employee a written notice against the offence.

- Escalate case to the senior management, if not resolved and indiscipline continues.

Grievance Handling:

- Resolve individual critical cases of grievances and escalates to senior management, if grievance unresolved.

Contract Workforce Management:

- Ensure that mandatory statutory records are maintained and conveyed to the contractor for submission of the same.

Employee Welfare:

- Design, initiate and manage welfare activities at plant, create processes and procedures with focus on welfare at plant.

- Develop Harassment Policy, design adaptive benefits to address the specific needs of individuals at factory site, supports designing work arrangements and an environment to increase productivity, morale and employee retention at site.

- Establish and communicate Health and Safety Guidelines customized to type of site, consults in developing safety processes.
