Job Description:

Role Objective

Serve as the primary action officer for government affairs activities in the region, with effective linkages to bureaucracy, regulatory authorities such as the police, as well as political parties in the regions.

Principal Accountabilities

Operational

Maintain cordial relations with industry bodies (such as CII, FICCI etc) and leverage this relationship for promoting direct selling in government and industry circles in the region.

Develop and maintain working relationship of key bureaucracy in all states of the region and maintain an up-to-date database. This includes names and numbers of key staff to senior bureaucracy such as chief secretary, home secretary, industries secretary, law secretary etc.

Develop and maintain a basic relationship of political leadership, coalitions of various parties in all states of the region and database of the same. This includes names and numbers of key staff to political leaders such as CM and members of the state Cabinet.

Map-out police hierarchy in state, with focus on the location of office and warehouses and maintain cordial relationship with police personnel concerned - SHO, SP, CP, up to IG level. Build relationships through CSR.

Identify and maintain cordial relationships with influential distributors within the government machinery and identify allies both in political circles as well as the bureaucracy along with them.

Help identify and execute corporate social responsibility related public-private participation programs that enhance relationship and reputation with relevant ministry or police department .

Propagate direct selling guidelines in all states in the region, with target of one state to pass similar guidelines.

Identify, develop and manage a regional Govt Affairs consultant who should have the capacity to - open doors- in the region

Intelligence-gathering on competition in the direct selling, MLM and network-marketing.

Aid and assist in Legal efforts during the time of a government driven crisis.

Obtain and communicate to management timely information about important government legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Monitor policy issues which have public-policy implications.

Be available to travel within the region.

Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed, within the ambit of government affairs, corporate social responsibility and industry.
