Manager Role Description - GCRS specific

We are seeking to add a Manager to our Global Compliance & Reporting Services (GCRS) practice. This Manager position will be responsible for leading and managing complex projects and client engagements, accountable for the client relationship as the principal client contact. The Manager will support and develop team members with hands-on coaching throughout each engagement and team members' careers.

In this position, the Manager will be able to draw from own experience in the fields of finance, accounting/auditing, and/or tax to help clients improve their internal processes by providing services. The following services could be included International Program Management, Business Analysis, Dashboard Reporting and Data Collection, Financial Operations and Back-office Process Analysis, Process Improvement, Fast Close, and Complex Program Management. The current priority is to focus on client service and support to pursuits. This practice line is one the most exciting and fast-paced opportunities client has to offer.

The GCRS practice consists of a virtual team with a concentration of team members in our Kansas City office. Team management and leadership functions are currently located in IL, FL, KC, NY and Germany. The team consists of self-motivated, professional and responsible individuals that practice within the Firm's Management Consulting LOB. GCRS focuses on providing professional project/program management and coordination services with a framework to assist complex global businesses with their foreign compliance requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

- Design and tailor complex projects/programs to meet the unique requirements of each client engagement or project, using "just enough PM" standards

- Run projects start to finish and be the key point of contact for C-level executives throughout the engagement lifecycle

- Efficient and effective management of new clients through standardized transition/onboarding phase Working closely with all teams to identify and resolve problems that arise with practical and value-added solutions

- Develop a network of relationships with Business Developers, industry specialists, and service line leaders across the firm and actively contribute to prospect and client Relationship Development Plan (RDP) meetings that lead to new service fees of $500k (includes referred, initiated or significant contributor)

- Help scope services for prospective clients and identify/resolve potential independence conflicts

- Responsible for all aspects of new client set-up including contracting

- Responsible for managing expectations around billing and collections and proactively identify billing concerns which can put the firm at financial risk or which could be indicators of quality concerns

- Understands team/finance reporting, trouble areas, and communicates remedies for folders and low performing clients/projects/team members

- Act as technical resource for the GCRS service line in one or multiple areas of audit, accounting, tax and be comfortable to talk with prospects and clients on topics which require some technical knowledge

- Identify and manage out of scope work

- Coach and develop the team on an ongoing basis through fast feedback system

- Involved in the recruitment of team members and responsible for successful onboarding of new hires.

- Consistently meets the firm's expectations for chargeable hours and margin

- Ability to travel (10-30% per year) post covid.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, challenging environment

- Strong background in either audit, tax or accounting

- International or multi-location project management experience, including multi-lingual capabilities (preferred)

- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

- Team player, motivate others, process orientated, with a priority on output and delivery

- Self-motivated, hands-on approach and practical outlook to problem solving

- Attention to detail, ability to work proactively and independently

- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Power Point and Excel

- Excellent self-direction and comfort working in a matrix environment

- PMP and CPA preferred, but not required

- Master's Degree in related field preferred, but not required.
