Manager - Finance/Tax & Compliance - Publishing House - CA/CS

A UK based multinational publishing house is looking for :

Designation - Manager Finance - Tax & Compliances

Qualifications/Experience - CA (cleared in 1st 3 attempts only) or CS with around 5 - 6 years of relevant exp. Familiarity with legal documentation will be an advantage. Exposure to merger, acquisition and/or corporate restructuring is desirable.

Location - Noida

Mandatory -

- Project Management experience is mandatory with working knowledge of interpreting legal documents.

- Experience in managing taxation (Direct and Indirect) including transfer pricing,company law, GST, general commercial agreements of a MNC or a large Indian company.

Desired Experience :

b. Strong functional and execution capabilities in finance, accounts, tax and corporate law domain with good analytical skills.

c. Proficiency in numerical and data analyses.

d. Experience in using an ERP (SAP preferred)/finance and accounting systems.

e. Good communicator, with fluent written and spoken English.

f. Well-organized, self-motivated and able to effectively prioritize and manage a broad and demanding workload.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

- To assist the Senior Manager in dealing with all tax matters of the Branch and other entities in India, particularly Direct Taxes, ensuring that Head Office is fully apprised of issues and has given its input.

- To act as a - Project Manager- working with internal clients in India, Hong Kong and UK and external advisers in India in relation to material projects. This includes managing a project plan, arranging meetings (project team and steering group), providing updates and tracking of budget for the project.

- To be responsible, working with internal clients, for ensuring that the company in India completes all required statutory and regulatory filing including under India's Companies Act that applies in India.

- To undertake the role of Company Secretary to the company's subsidiaries based in India.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS

1. To be the Project Manager for multiple projects, coordinating with colleagues across locations and time zones as well as external advisors. This includes setting up a project plan, arranging for regular meetings (project team and steering group),providing regular project updates and tracking of budget for the project.

2. To contribute towards structuring of any new businesses or transactions to ensure company is fully compliant to regulatory and statutory requirements.

3. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress to ensure timely execution within scope by coordinating with colleagues across locations and time zones.

4. To be responsible for company's Direct tax function and to ensure all statutory requirements are met and filings are within deadline, and that the Group's tax payment and filing tracker is up to date.

5. To be responsible, working with internal clients, for ensuring that company in India completes all required statutory and regulatory filing including under India's Companies Act that apply to India.

6. To be responsible for ensuring legal agreements are in place for all transactions entered into by the Branch and subject to agreed delegated authority thresholds.
