Position - Finance Manager Reporting to - CFO Location - BKC, Mumbai Role - Responsible for handling financial reporting &amp; closing activities, project work in the area of responsibility. Job Profile: - Governance and quality assurance - Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility. Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements. Draft standards to improve quality as well as active contribution in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implementation of global policies and procedures. - Investment -Handling Investment Back/Mid office for local reporting point of view, Filing of IRDAI Investment return, Investment Audit and Investment accounting. Coordinate with regional/HO on Investment reporting. - Reporting and Closing - Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis. Support colleagues in the near- and offshore entities with their closing tasks, coordinate the tasks and supervise the teams and perform quality checks on the work done. - Manage relationship with 3rd parties i.e. auditors, biz units, tax authorities, public authorities, etc. - Global P&amp;L analysis and reviews - Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities. Identify items or discussion or resolution. - Coordination, clarification and balancing of unbalanced items and resolution of differences. Ensure that all accounts receivable / payables are settled and collected as per agreed terms of the settlement. Identify and analyse all accounts differences and liaise with Underwriting and the brokers to ensure that all items are booked correctly and differences are resolved in a professional manner and on a timely basis. Candidate Profile: - CA with 5+ years of working experience in General Insurance. - Professional experience in reinsurance, P&amp;C insurance and / or Asset Management. - Proven understanding of standard accounting (GAAP &amp; IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance. - Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers and being able to perform financial statements analysis (e.g. Ratio Analysis) and reconciliations. - Analytical Thinking and Problem-solving skill: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex (e.g. ambiguous, from various sources) data and processes to rapidly distil key issues and provide insight in various situations; ability to identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues that can be abstract/ambiguous and follow through on their remediation. - Advanced digital skills: Knowledge of data architecture, understanding the potential of data analytics, ability to digitalize the accounting processes and to explain the accounting needs to third parties. - Collaboration across teams (in and outside of CFO) and in virtual teams and being able to supervise and coordinate near- and offshore teams without authority. - Project Management: Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, and moderating) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and requirements.
