Manager - Finance - Fixed Assets Accounting Team - IT - CA

Principal role

Lead the newly set-up Fixed Asset accounting team in Bangalore. Develop strong understanding of Company's FA process, policy and procedures, executing on Oracle R12 platform. Besides executing FA transactions, he/she will also be the FA subject matter expert, providing leadership and support to the FA team, and acts as the go-to person for stakeholders with vested interest in the plant and machinery. He/she need to be the coach to the Bangalore FA team and has the experience, communication skills and maturity for problem-solving across boundaries, work cross-culture and driving improvement of our global FA process. His ultimate objective is to build the Bangalore FA shared service center into a center of excellence.

Ideal candidates should meet these criteria

- Prior manufacturing industry experience in a multinational company is preferred

- Semiconductor industry knowledge is a plus.

- Initial years spent in CPA firms or Chartered Accountants would be advantageous.

- Possess intermediate to advance level of accounting skills

- Experience in transitioning of FA activities to India and leading a team of 5-10 accountants for at least 3 years.

- Led General Ledger - FA monthly closing activities of a global company in accordance with the close calendar.

- Familiar with close process in an ERP environment - preferably Oracle R12, including managing the FA close schedules, supervising the FA team members, and ensuring accurate accounting entries are posted

- Work level understanding of effective internal controls and SOX or ADAA compliance experience is advantageous

- Knowledge of IFRS standards impacting FA accounting eg leases

- Show good communication skills, speak fluently and is easily understood in an international environment

- Demonstrated ability to work across borders, cutting through different work cultures

Job description

Lead a 10 person FA team in Bangalore, to process high volume FA activities, such as mass additions, bulk tool sales, asset disposals arising from discontinuing of operations, business amalgamation. Perform month end close activities, supporting the quarterly audit process and year end statutory audits, corporate & local statutory reporting, consistent with Company accounting policies, IFRS and India GAAP (where applicable).

In detail:

- Lead the FA team to ensure timely and accurate month end FA module close, in line with Corporate close calendar.

- Ensure accurate recording and accounting for inter-company FA sales/transfer in accordance with Corporate Transfer Pricing policy

- Support tax compliance filing by preparing necessary FA related tax schedules

- Lead IFRS 16 - Lease accounting implementation and ensure correct lease accounting

- Manage compliance of daily Fixed Assets activities according to Company policies, IFRS accounting standards and corporate governance.

- Coordinate audit related activities impacting fixed assets, eg asset verification and asset tagging

- Ensure the team perform accurate FA monthly account reconciliations and reporting to Corporate according to calendar close deadlines

- Lead ad-hoc FA projects, eg to support 5 years business plan and depreciation forecasting

- Support various stakeholders in projects with FA implications, eg Capex controlling

- Oracle R12 ERP work knowledge is a plus
