The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of direct tax which includes tax computation, assessments, representations, routine compliance and handling litigations .
Key Role & Responsibilities :
- Ensure completion of Income Tax assessment
- Review income tax assessment submission prepared by the accounts team
- Attend all income tax hearings and complete the final submission for income tax assessment
- Examine and review financial statements to ensure compliance with direct taxation standards and regulations
- Guide various departments on Income Tax, TDS and Wealth tax issues on regular basis
- Ensure up to date communication with external tax authorities on an ongoing basis
- Handle first level tax assessments, transfer pricing proceedings & TDS Verifications and other correspondence with IT authorities
- Sign off quarterly advance tax liability and ensure timely filing of Corporate Income Tax returns and review of advance tax workings of income tax
- Collect the information sought by tax authorities, prepare submissions and represent company before the authorities
- Prepare replies to other notices and handling other day-to-day correspondence with tax authorities like filing stay applications before assessing officers and commissioners, replying to notices received under different provisions of Income Tax Act
- Liaise with Tax and Transfer Pricing Auditors to complete tax & transfer pricing audit and annual certification
- Obtain lower deduction of tax certificate from Tax authorities
- Upgrade tax awareness of various employees on different changes in tax laws from time to time.
Educational Qualification : Chartered Accountant
