Manager - Digital Transformation & Strategy


Overall Position Summary :


- The digital manager will be responsible for charting out and executing the organization's journey towards better digital maturity. She/ he will have to achieve the same through a 2-speed process:

- Tactical (Short to Mid term): Implementation of the initiatives planned (project manage) and ensuring business impact of the running systems (connect system processes to business KPIs)

- Strategic (Mid to Long term): Observe business and technological trends playing out in the agri-adjacent value chain- and design investment thesis around them.

- The role requires extensive cross functional coordination and interface with partners & vendors in digital/ analytics/ enterprise IT systems. The role in itself is an individual contributor.

Digital roadmap & Agtech scenario :

- Digital is a stated core capability for PI- and hence is a priority management focus area by way of capital investments and leadership efforts. The envisaged Digital CoE (center of excellence) will be entrusted to not just accelerate the current business levers, but also activate new digital-first business models.

Key Responsibilities :

Digital Strategy & Formulation:

- Development of digital strategy and driving the same throughout the business unit, clearly quantifying business case for digital transformation

- Leading digital capability analysis and assessment towards executing the digital strategy, including competitive benchmarking of the organization's digital assets and defining the to be state based on within category and cross- category leading practices

- Incorporating new ideas in technology and digital applications from outside their traditional industry structures and conventions to generate competitive differentiation as part of the digital strategy formulation

- Design multi-channel consumer (Farmer) experience across the journey (awareness - > research & evaluate - > purchase - > use - > advocate). Identify metrics for the same, and measurement mechanisms (source / definition)

- Develop and prepare insights on impact of digitalization on input and output value chain in agriculture and its impact on PI's business

Strategic Controlling :

- Develop strategy review process/cadence for the business

- Develop monitoring frameworks & mechanisms to ensure business and budgets are in line

- Planning :

- Budget formulation: Defining budget on the basis of business frameworks, strategies, processes, and measures to be applied across the business

- Goal Setting: Creating and finalizing actionable plan and targets

- Training: Plan and build training workshops to apprise and impart knowledge for each new technology/ software solution

- UX Oversight: Overseeing customer experience on digital touchpoints, soliciting and addressing feedback for the same

Internal Collaboration :

- Capability Development: Build digital awareness across the organization.

- Deployment of solution built: Ensure seamless deployment of digital solutions developed within organization, monitor effectiveness and business outcomes vs. plan

Change Management :

- Change Management Plan: Facilitate internal organizational and cultural change management process for digital adoption

- Change toolkit: Develop change toolkit & materials, with input of best practices, in collaboration with Agri BU Head along with designing communications

- Digital Surveys: Develop and administer regular digital surveys and pulse check

External Collaboration :

- Vendor Selection: Selection of IT and emerging technology partnerships based on policy and stringent process and Negotiate favorable terms and conditions and finalize contract in collaboration with Legal team.

- Spend management: Plan and optimize technology investments and spends for digital interventions

Operational:

- Partnerships & Ecosystems:

- Digital Partner Onboarding: Internal and external expansion of digital partner network

- New launches: Ensure seamless implementation of new technology platform launches in collaboration with external vendor

- Launch initiatives: Drive effective roll-out of planned launches in collaboration with function heads to allow for better preparation and quicker adoption

- Feedback: Take regular feedback from users about quality of technology and take action as appropriate

Continuous Improvement:

- Customer connect through digital touchpoints: Initiatives for better customer connect, better digital outreach among customers and enhanced data quality

- Internal application of new digital tools: Continuous improvement initiatives using digital technologies in collaboration with other function heads

- Progress Review: Review progress and effectiveness of all implemented initiatives

MIS & Reporting :

- KPI Measurement and Tracking: Define, track and publish to relevant stakeholders performance of key metrics for Digital

- Reporting: Provide regular updates and Ensure accuracy and updation of dashboards

Financial :

- Expenses: Ensure efficient and effective spends for digital initiatives

- Savings Targets: Ensure achievement of planned savings in costs resulting from enhanced efficiency and time saved

- Adherence to budget: Drive adherence to expenditure as per budget.

- Agriculture usually follows other consumer segments with 5-10 year lag; there is a strong probability of the tech inflection point in Indian agriculture over the next 3-5 years. Agtech at scale will be a major lever for enabling new touchpoints for India's 100mn+ farmers.

Educational Qualification :

- MBA from a reputed B-School.

- Graduation preferably with IT/ CS specialization

Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience, with minimum 3 years in Product /Project management experience

- Should preferably have been a part a Digital transformation office previously.
