Objective :

- To procure, maintain and ensure relevant set of data flowing through for various channels for delivery of Company's catalog services.

Role Description :

The key aspect of the role is data acquisition, data aggregation and operations

Data Acquisition :

- Create and implement a plan to acquire relevant data for Company's catalogs.

- Initiate and maintain necessary relationships to physically/manually obtain data from various sources such as principal companies, associations, distributors etc.

- Continuously explore pain/unpaid sources of data in order to ensure continuous stream of accurate and updated data.

- Continuously strive for accuracy and excellency in the data that is obtained.

- Create and implement plans to continuously ingest and manually curate all physically/manually obtained data.

- Ingest physically/manually obtained data using relevant tools.

- Manually normalize/curate all relevant data in order to publish meaningful data.

Operations :

- Maintain open and regular communication line with the Product Owner for Business Tools in the Engineering Team to provide functional input for ingestion/curation tool creation.

- Create and implement plan for team creation.

- Manage and guide team to constantly procure data from various identified sources

- Manage team and develop processes for normalizing/curating all relevant data

- Develop processes for constant evaluation of data to identify gaps, missing pieces in data

- Work cross functionally with technology team to possibly develop applications that help in manual sourcing of data

- Develop processes to maintain sanity of data

Key Requirements :

- The Incumbent should have 7-10 yrs of experience.

- Hands on experience in data acquisition, ingestion and curation.

- Deep working knowledge of data related to the FMCG sector (other industries is a plus) i.e. understands constant changing nature of attributes and is able to apply it to retail sector

- Working knowledge of standardized codes and associated organizations that provide such codes (for example, aware of the existence of GS 1 and other organizations)

- Comprehensive knowledge of various product categories across FMCG and other industries

- Should have managed data teams.

- Not mandatory but good to have is experience in participating in product road maps.

- Should have worked in start-up environment.
