Customs Operations Manager

- Is accountable for timely clearance of all Imports & Exports shipments from Courier, Air / Sea ports within defined Lead-time.

- Should be competent enough for development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedure with LSPs / Customs broker and in a measurable way

- Proactively acts to understand customer (internal and external) needs in non-standard and complex situations

- Creates and maintains instructions and documents processes in own responsibility area

- Supports and coaches team members in complex issues and acts as a source of Customs Expertise for Chennai factory.

Acts as a specialist on a specific customs operations field addressing the following areas & should have :

1. In-depth knowledge of Harmonized Systems of Nomenclature / Tariff Codes for telecom Industry with applicable notification / instruction / Trade notices.

2. Well versed with Licensing requirements in telecom domain ..be it WPC, EPR, SCOMET, ETA and required approvals from MoEF.

3. Monitors, understands and interprets regulatory requirements and procedures related to Customs Rules, EXIM policy & HBP.

4. End-to-End Customs clearance process for imports & exports and documentary requirements.

5. Hands-on experience on pre and post shipment documentation, archival & retrieval process to face any query / audit in future.

6. Knowledge in Customs Duty Draw-back, Duty refund, re-export, re-import procedure.

7. Create, monitor & develop the process / guidelines to be followed by LSPs / own team in a most compliant manner with periodic reporting.

8. Responsible for internal support and interpretation of regulations, execution.

9. Maintain good PR and Liasioning with high Customs officials on time-to-time basis to have better control on clearances.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent with 10-12 years of experience in telecom sector

- Master's Degree / Professional Qualification / Specialization in Supply Chain will be added advantage

- Ability to adapt to changing work environment
