Manager - Cost & Management Accounts - Manufacturing/Mining Firm

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

- Associate Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India (ICMAI) & a Bachelor's degree in Commerce

- At least 5 years' experience in Cost & Management Systems in a Manufacturing or a Mining Company with at least 250 Crores turnover.

- Should have been reporting directly to the CEO / Project Head / CFO.

- Must have a sound experience in independently developing Costing Model and Cost & Management Systems for Projects.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

- Should have knowledge on Variable/Fixed Cost Variance Analysis and Control.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manager - Cost & Management Accounts is responsible for design, development & implementation of Cost systems / SOPs to achieve effective and efficient use of the resources of the Company. He must ensure that the costs incurred are aligned with the overall business strategy of the Company. He shall have expertise in managing a wide spectrum of activities relating to Accounting control systems and Procedures, Reconciliations and MIS systems.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Indicative Only):

Key Job Responsibilities :

- Prepare Annual / Monthly budgets for the Company / Project-wise / Activity wise by networking with various functional managers and ensured its completion within the approved timeline.

- Collection of Production & Consumption data from various Project sites & verification of the same to ensure correctness.

- Preparation of Periodic Cost Reports & Analysis of variances against budget.

- Regularly reconcile the Cost data with Financial data as per SAP & enable necessary corrections in the Costing data or the Financial books as per SAP.

- Prepare Cost & Consumption Variance Reports & analyse the same with reasons for the same.

- Recommend corrective actions to reduce variances through Cost reduction recommendations / Implementation of Systems.

- Maintain Cost data Base Project-wise, Activity-wise & Cost element wise for future reference and reliance.

- Analysis of Overheads & Fixed Costs for effective utilization of resources

- Maintaining Cost Records in prescribed formats and Finalization of Cost Audit Report on Annual Basis

- Identify the cost drivers for cost reduction & allocation basis for apportionment of costs.

- Preparation of Cost Benefit Analysis for new initiatives, projects, capital investments.

- Vetting of Contracts to ensure the interests of the Organisation & compliance to statutory requirements.

- Due diligence of new investments proposals as well as existing operations.
