Description

- Direct and Indirect Tax advisory support for India and offshore entities

- Managing tax audits, litigations, assessments etc. for Client companies

- Advising Group Companies and internal stakeholders on India tax matters and implications with changes in law

- Handle tax compliance namely, filing of tax returns, advance Taxes, Transfer Pricing study, year end provisioning, Uncertain Tax Positions reporting for various clients entities.

- Evaluation from a direct and indirect tax perspective of new policies being implemented by the company.

- Planning and preparation of the implementation of GST and introduction of new Direct Taxes Code.

- Assisting in planning and implementation of tax saving strategies and ideas.

- Working in close co-ordination with the outside consultants of TR and Accounting Services and other teams within TR.

- Working closely with other members of the Asia Pacific tax teams for information exchange and group tax matters.

- Ability to represent TR during the hearings with the tax office and on any follow up matters.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree and C.A. Any other (Law, Cost Accounting, etc.) is desirable but not a must

- 6-7 years experience with industry background in indirect and direct tax, STPI/SEZ related and exchange control matters.

- Nice to have consulting experience as well. Strong team player, ability to work well with various stakeholders within and outside Thomson Reuters.

- Ability to handle pressure and complete tasks successfully within deadlines. Should be pro-active with ability to initiate and complete projects with minimum supervision.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Should be able to work well with various teams within TR (e.g. Accounting Services) to achieve tax team's objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
