Overview: As a Contract Manager for road project at, you will play a pivotal role in managing all contractual aspects of the project. You will be responsible for ensuring that contracts are effectively negotiated, administered, and executed in accordance with company policies and project requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
2. Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including contract drafting, review, and execution.
3. Change Management: Manage contract changes and variations, assess their impact on project cost and schedule, and negotiate equitable adjustments as needed.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, including scope creep, delays, and disputes, to protect the company's interests.
5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to contract terms.
6. Claims Management: Handle contract claims and disputes in a timely and proactive manner, working closely with legal counsel and project teams to resolve issues and minimize financial exposure.
7. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on contract status, including key milestones, deliverables, and financial performance, and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
8. Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners to promote collaboration and achieve project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field.
- Proven experience in contract management, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector, with a focus on road projects.
- Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
