Manager - Consolidation - Financial Firm

- Be accountable for delivering expert advice or service, apply judgements , using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise for interpretation and implementation of accounting standards, business requirements and preparing consolidated financial reporting packs

- People management, resource planning, stakeholder management.

- Planning, conducting high level review of deliverables, supporting UK counterparts, present technical papers in forums.

- Maintain a good relationship and liaise with the Auditors, fund teams, third party accountants and other parts of the M&G business, participation in working groups and CFTs

- Review deliverables from third party accountants and team members

- Support the production of the Consolidated funds reporting and associated workbooks for submission to Prudential Assurance Company accounting team and Group reporting team

- Preparation/checking of IFRS10 assessment memo's

- Operational support in setting up new entities on the group consolidation platform.

- Ensure requirements per the Quarterly group instructions are adhered too and shared with TPAS accordingly.

- Provide the business with consistent financials with analytical reviews and disclosures

- Prepare/Review of an asset data store submission of the assets held by the funds

- Create roll forwards, consolidation workings and check valuations

- Check workings of third party accountant.

- Provide support for other members of the Consolidation Team

- Review and development of processes and procedures to accommodate business changes

- Keep up to date with the latest business developments

- Keep up to date with the latest accounting developments

- Checking of complex financial reporting packs and underlying workings whilst adhering to the controls and checks

- Provide advice and guidance on accounting treatments, Identify and posting detailed GAAP/fit for consolidation adjustment from local GAAP to IFRS reporting

- Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects

- Ensure compliance with current accounting standards, IFRS, SOX and Group Head Office procedures to demonstrate a solid financial control regime

- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects supporting programmes with detailed accounting requirements and impact analysis

- Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes

- Demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

- HFM & Tagetik system experience

- IFRS implementation and assessment

- Consolidated reporting experience

- Confidence & excellent communication

- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation & externally.

- Good technical accounting and taxation knowledge, including UKGAAP/ IFRS.

- Good understanding of the business and the external financial environment in which it operates.

- Good understanding of monitoring a SOX control environment

- Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills

- Time Management and Workload Planning Skills

- Good interpersonal skills.
