Consultant/ Manager – Private Equity Strategy

Strategy Practice: The Strategy practice within the CN organization focuses on delivering strategy projects across industries in the core offerings of Corporate Strategy, Private Equity Consulting, M&A and Operating Model Strategy amongst others.

- This role is for a Consultant/ Manager in the Private Equity Strategy practice who will primarily focus on pre-deal, during-the-deal and post-deal projects with Indian private equity clients, and also with global M&A or strategy clients. The nature of work will include projects like strategic industry assessment, target screening, commercial / business due diligence and portfolio company performance improvement.

Experience Required -

Specific experiences will include:

- Experience in private equity or M&A engagements (in either the pre-during- or post-deal stages)

- A minimum of 8 years of consulting, strategy, M&A or private equity experience

- Experience of working on multiple strategy projects

- Industry depth and understanding in one or more of the following sectors - healthcare, infrastructure, consumer products and industrial products / manufacturing

- Demonstrated project and people management skills

- Experience working with “C” level executive clients

- MBA from IIM

- Prior experience in private equity practices of consulting firms will be an advantage

- Comfortable working at the highest levels of client organizations and interacting closely with the “C” level executives in a range of environments

- Comfortable functioning in a broadly positioned and highly diverse consulting firm

- Possesses and demonstrates high integrity and credibility as perceived by all those with whom s/he will work

- Strong intellect coupled with proficient commercial instincts

- Be diplomatic, flexible, and have a good team approach

- Ability to work under pressure, typical of high intensity private equity engagements

General Skills:

The Private Equity Strategy Manager / Consultant will be responsible for delivering projects in India or across other geographies,

Responsibilities may include:

- Project Delivery and Management: Lead small to medium-size teams to deliver high impact projects for Indian and global clients, manage project economics including planning and budgeting, define deliverable content, manage stakeholders and ensure buy-in of proposed solutions. This may include:

- Working with clients to define, plan and execute engagements

- Managing client needs – including requests for change or updates

- Owning end-to-end responsibility for engagement and engagement team management

- Business Development: Work with the client sales team to identify, create proposals for and win potential opportunities. Develop and nurture relationships with an allocated set of clients

- People Development: Perform the role of counselor and coach, provides input and guidance into the firm’s staffing process, provide relevant training to team members and actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities
